Ford Lemon

Ford Motors Company is recalling over 20,000 2021 – 2025 Ford and Lincoln plug-in hybrid models because their high-voltage battery cells may experience internal short-circuiting, causing a loss of power and increasing the risk of accident.

The models affected by this recall include:

2020-2024 Ford Escape plug-in hybrid
2021-2024 Lincoln Corsair plug-in hybrid

According to the manufacturer, there have been no reports of related accidents thus far.

Ford is currently working on a fix and, in the meantime, will send a letter instructing owners to limit the maximum charge of their batteries and use only “Auto EV” mode until the issue can be permanently handled.

Ford and Lincoln drivers can also call the manufacturers’ custom service at 866-436-7332 or check the NHTSA website with their VIN number to find out if there are any pending recalls.

If you’re experiencing issues with a 2020 – 2025 Ford or Lincoln vehicle which haven’t been fixed in a reasonable number of attempts while under warranty, Joseph Kaufman and Associates can help you file a lemon claim seeking a repurchase or cash settlement.
