TOP GMC ACADIA ISSUES
With a very affordable price in the mid-$30K range, it’s no surprise that this three-row SUV is a popular family car. While the number of repairs required for this vehicle is average, the problems that occur tend to be quite serious and expensive.
Common GMC Acadia issues include:
- Electrical: Faulty batteries draining quickly resulting in stalling and failure to start.
- Engine: shaking, grinding noises, stalling and loss of power.
- Fuel System: erroneous fuel gauge, faulty fuel injectors.
- Transmission defect and overheating causing slipping, harsh shifting, shifting delays, jumping during acceleration and burning smell.
The good news is that If your Acadia SUV is still under manufacturer’s warranty and these or any other issues have not been handled in a reasonable number of repair attempts, you might be protected by consumer protection laws and California’s lemon law.
THE CALIFORNIA LEMON LAW
California’s lemon law is designed to protect the consumer rights of those who have bought, leased or serviced their vehicles in California, or active duty military with a connection to California. It requires car companies such as General Motors to repurchase or replace any defective vehicle that suffer from warranty defects that cannot be fixed in a reasonable number of attempts – usually as low as 2 repair attempts. So if you bought in California a 2020 or newer Acadia pickup that’s a lemon, you are entitled to get monetary compensation, a lemon law buyback or replacement vehicle. Best of all, it won’t cost you anything as all attorney fees and costs will be paid by GM.
