The Lemon Law Covers Used Cars Too

The lemon law applies to used cars as long as the vehicle was covered by an express warranty when it was sold and as long as it was purchased at a retail dealer. The lemon law typically does not apply to high mileage used vehicles sold after the expiration of the manufacturer’s warranty, although a variety of other consumer protection statutes protect consumers in used vehicle sales.
