Maria Sanjur-Van Brande

– ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY –

Maria Sanjur-Van Brande is an attorney originally from Panama City, Panama. After beginning her legal career in Panama, she moved to California in 2019 to pursue a Master’s Degree at the University of Southern California. As a student, she participated in USC’s Practical Skills Mediation Clinic, where she was able to provide volunteer mediation services in the Los Angeles Superior Court System. She obtained a Master’s in Law in Alternative Dispute Resolution and a Graduate Certificate in Business Law in 2020.

Prior to joining our firm, Maria worked in immigration law both as a paralegal and as a law clerk. In those roles she was able to apply skills gained during her L.L.M. studies and she developed a passion for helping immigrants navigate the immigration process.  Since joining Joseph Kaufman & Associates, Maria has gained significant experience advocating on behalf of consumers with lemon law claims. Maria has already won several arbitrations against multiple auto manufacturers, and through her law and motion practice she has obtained many favorable rulings on behalf of California consumers.  Her skillful negotiation and litigation tactics have resulted in many favorable settlements, and she enjoys putting her talents to use to help others.
